The Ambassador's Daughter is not the kind of book I'd naturally pick up; I find war stories really depressing, but at the behest of a relative, I said I'd give it a go.

The depiction of post-WW1 Paris seemed realistic, but I found it hard to immerse myself in it, which may have been down to the characters rather than the description/5.

We've read all three books in this 'series' for book club and have also read other books by this author. While I've read that you don't need to read the three books (The Ambassador's Daughter-#1, and The Kommandant's Girl-#2) in order, after reading all of them, I think they should be read in order.4/4().
